The word “accessibility” refers to ICT systems capacity to provide, within the limits of technological knowledge, services and information which can be used, without discrimination of any kind, also by disabled people who need special/extra-equipment or assistance. (Italian Law n. 4, dated 9th January 2005, “Disposizioni per favorire l'accesso dei soggetti disabili agli strumenti informatici” - Arrangements to foster disable people’s access to ICT tools).
Public Authorities must adhere to these requirements in order to guarantee full accessibility or, at least, the minimum accessibility required.
Brick has been designed and realized to guarantee full accessibility to a web-site.
It is otherwise essential to highlight that a web-site accessibility is not guaranteed only by implementing Brick; it is capital that the web-site design and realization are attentively arranged and that the staff in charge of the web-site maintenance should actively and constantly follow and update these aspects.
Moreover, Brick has been realized in full conformity with WAI group guidelines to achieve total accessibility of a web-site. Web-pages are generated to satisfy all the requirements of W3C-WAI (WCAG 1.0) guidelines and those stated in the draft of Verifica Tecnica – Legge Stanca (L. 4/04)
