Brick is an Enterprise Portal Management Platform, realized with the support of standard technologies and cross platforms (J2EE, XML, Velocity) for Portal Enterprise Management that integrate information, applications and processes.
Functionalities
Content management
It provides total management of creation, categorisation and sharing of the information. With high standards of web-publishing activity, it enables immediate web-publishing of all kind of information ( text, images, videos, files, products description…).
Document and Workflow Management
Documental management through versioning process, document check-in and check-out. Thanks to a specific module ( Workflow Module) it is possible to create customized workflows that support work processes.
Additional module
Additional software modules to respond to specific requirements: workflow module, social, eCommerce, information retrieval, info target, conversion server, multi-portal.
Main features
Portability
The platform (J2EE compliant) requires only one application server consistent with J2EE (ex. Toomcat, Bea, Jrun…) enabling its installation in every kind of operating system ( Windows, Linux, Unix…) and with different web servers (IIS, Apache, …).
It does not require an installation on Customer’s side (i.e. to access Administration and Editing), only one single browser standard is required (Microsoft Explorer, Netscape Communicator, Mozilla Firefox).
Easy to use
It has a web based interface, easy and intuitive to be used also by untrained staff, both in administration and editing processes.
Flexibility and multi-channel
Thanks to XML/XSL technology, there is a clear distinction between contents and their formatting, thus enabling to show the same information through various channels with completely different representations. Besides web-publishing, it enables also publishing on other channels: wireless, mail, SMS, vocal portal, PDA, etc.
Security
The architecture of the system has been designed and realized to enable high security standards, also guaranteed by additional use of protected procedures.
Accessibility
Brick has been realized in full accordance with “Legge Stanca sull’accessiblità” (Italian Law on Accessibility, law n. 4 dated 9th January 2005: “…arrangements to foster disable people’s access to IT tools ”) in respect of WAI basic guidelines that guarantee full accessibility to a web-site”.
Personalization
Onecube proposes products completely customised to respond to Customer’s specific needs, with the main purpose to offer products-based solutions and not only mere products.
Costs within budget
Thanks to the different ways of personalization and to the possibility to purchase single modules, Brick has very competitive costs. Moreover it is available both in ASP (usage fee) and licence version.
